About the Job:

The successful candidate will join a small, agile team responsible for the provision and maintenance of the global services that underpin Kallidus’ award-winning products; working on platform automation with a strong emphasis on deploying secure, reliable and repeatable services whilst working closely with developers to drive adoption of the latest technologies and championing DevOps methodologies. You will have to opportunity to use the latest technologies, and to push adoption of innovative solutions across the Technology department. The team has been responsible for introducing observability (OTEL, Grafana etc), Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform and other technology to improve the departments quality of life.

Candidates will need to showcase their application of DevOps methodologies in their recent professional experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provision and maintain secure Azure PaaS/IaaS
  • Implement deployment pipeline-as-code in Azure DevOps
  • Ensure availability and reliability of the Kallidus services
  • Proactively respond to alerts and outages
  • Develop tooling to aid support of the platform and applications by other teams
  • Maintain and evolve concepts in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for existing and new services
  • Encourage a culture of innovation focused on adding value
  • Proven ability to prioritise and to manage one's own workload
  • A focus on automation, thorough testing and documentation, resulting in high-quality services
  • Provide technical mentoring of other team members and teams within the business to support the Kallidus services

Requirements

Technology requirements are ‘or similar’ as you will have transferable skills gained in other related technologies.

  • Experience of Azure
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
  • Hands-on experience of containers and Kubernetes
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Azure DevOps/ArgoCD)
  • Hands-on experience with Linux/Windows virtual machines
  • Good oral and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Configuration Management (Chef/Packer or similar)
  • Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell/Bash/Azure CLI)
  • Observability (OTEL/Prometheus/Grafana/Loki/ElasticSearch)
  • Experience of cloud networks (reverse proxy/routing/DNS/firewall)
  • Knowledge of cloud platform security
  • Exposure to web server (IIS/Nginx/others)
  • Experience working within a SaaS provider an advantage
