The Job

Kallidus Off the Shelf (OTS) content is one of the UK’s highest-rated eLearning libraries, recognised for its accessibility, editability, and interactivity. As a Content Developer, you will build and update courses using our existing templates, editing JSON files, managing and editing assets, and running scripts within WebStorm. You’ll use Git to commit and merge changes, generate and process audio using AI tools and human voice recordings, and engage with processes that underpin our delivery pipeline (Azure DevOps, release management, template improvements).

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring courses are accurate, accessible and delivered to the highest quality, collaborate with Learning Designers, QA, Graphic Designers, and work independently to manage tasks efficiently. Attention to detail, clear communication, and consistent delivery are key.

The ideal candidate will have a curiosity for learning new tools and technologies (e.g. React, scripting, accessibility) and have the desire to contribute beyond course builds by helping to innovate new interactions, support peers, and mentor others.

Your responsibilities

  • Build new courses and update/customise existing content.
  • Edit JSON files to configure templates (animations, colours, text content).
  • Import and manage course assets using WebStorm, NPM scripts, and other software.
  • Generate, edit and integrate AI and human-voiced audio, and associated subtitles.
  • Use Git for version control, committing, merging and reviewing changes.
  • Maintain accessibility awareness (contrast, text in images, language use), and ensure content is suitable for desktop and mobile devices.
  • Support release processes, including accurate updates in Monday and Azure DevOps.
  • Communicate progress clearly across Teams, Monday, and DevOps.
  • Peer review and QA other developers’ work.
  • Contribute ideas for improving templates, processes, and team workflows.

Your Skills, Experience and Behaviours

Essential

  • Strong attention to detail; reliable, accurate worker.
  • Experience editing structured files (JSON or similar).
  • A good understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Comfortable using Git workflows (commit, merge, pull requests).
  • Awareness of accessibility best practices in digital learning, and the semantic web.
  • Good interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills in a remote team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage routine, process-driven tasks.
  • Quick to learn new techniques and embrace new challenges.

Desirable

  • Experience with React JS, Node JS and modern frontend frameworks.
  • Understanding of SCORM 1.2/2004 standards.
  • Experience with build tools, Less/CSS preprocessors.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies in digital learning.
  • Awareness of digital learning market and the competitor offer.
  • Able to experiment with code and problem-solve using available tools (including AI assistants).
