Kallidus is a leading SaaS provider of learning, performance, and talent management solutions. Our award-winning platform helps hundreds of organisations worldwide empower their people to perform at their best — from simplifying compliance to driving skills development and measurable business outcomes.
We are a technology company, not just a company that "does technology". We build it ourselves, we own it entirely, and the people who lead that work have real influence over how it evolves. Come build, grow and make a difference!🚀
The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys designing and building robust backend services, APIs, and integrations that power large-scale SaaS applications.

You’ll work as part of a collaborative Agile team, contributing to the development of new features, enhancing existing products, and helping to deliver high-quality software that supports our customers around the globe.
We’re particularly interested in developers who have a strong background in designing, building, and maintaining RESTful Web APIs and who understand how modern distributed applications communicate and scale.

This role can be based out of either our Bristol HQ or our new AI Hub in Lisbon!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable .NET applications and services
  • Build and enhance high-performance RESTful Web APIs that support our SaaS platform
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, and Engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following industry best practices
  • Develop and maintain integrations with internal and third-party systems through APIs
  • Support the deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of applications
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues
  • Refactor and optimise existing systems to improve performance and maintainability
  • Contribute to code reviews and promote engineering excellence within the team
  • Create and maintain technical documentation throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Ensure solutions align with security, scalability, and reliability standards

Required Skills, Experience and Behaviours

  • Commercial experience as a .NET Developer, Software Developer, or Application Developer
  • Strong experience building and maintaining RESTful Web APIs using .NET and C#
  • Excellent knowledge of ASP.NET Core Web API
  • Solid understanding of API design principles, versioning, authentication, and security best practices
  • Experience working with SQL Server and relational database design
  • Strong C# development skills
  • Experience consuming and integrating third-party APIs and services
  • Knowledge of architectural patterns and modern software design principles
  • Familiarity with API-driven and microservices-based architectures
  • Understanding of HTTP, JSON, REST, and modern web technologies
  • Experience working within Agile development environments
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to code quality

Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience with Azure and cloud-native application development
  • Exposure to containerisation technologies such as Docker
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies
  • Experience with API gateways and service integrations
  • Exposure to learning technology, HR technology, or workforce analytics platforms
